Term 2 Week 3 - Thursday 16 May 2024
Principal's Message
Gospel: John 20: 19-23
Now when it was late that same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be to you. And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.
Mother’s Day
Thank you to the Dads who were able to assist with the stall and the canteen. It was a huge gathering of Mums, Grandmas, Aunties and special friends. A wonderful community experience. Thank you to all our staff who helped facilitate the day, there were beautiful nails, colourful hats and exercised mums a plenty. A special thanks also to our Year 2 team for your beautiful liturgy, lots of great examples of why our mums are so special.
Walkathon
At the community council meeting on Tuesday night we decided to move the Walkathon to the end of Term 2 weather permitted. This will then lighten the Term 3 load which will have Father’s Day and the Musical. More information to come.

Resilience Project
ELC-Year 6 commenced The Resilience Project lessons this term. Students have begun learning about Gratitude, in particular what they are grateful for. All classes have been looking at what we have to be grateful for compared to children in other countries who have far less. Despite having far less, these children are so delightfully happy. This gives us every reason in Australia to be extremely happy. The Resilience Project provides many wonderful resources for parents. If you haven't already jump on the link below and have a look.

Walk to School Day - tomorrow Friday 17 May
National Walk Safely to School Day - Friday 17 May 2024
This Friday will be our whole school ride and walk day for National Walk Safely to School Week. It is an initiative supported by the government to encourage both students and their parents to be more active and healthy in their daily commute to school and work.
St Jude’s will be participating with a whole school walk and ride to school morning tomorrow. While we encourage walking and riding, we also welcome any wheels too. We will have teachers stationed from 8:10am at the locations marked on the map. They will wait and meet students and parents and depart those locations by 8:20am to move along the marked routes to school.
At school, the groups will be met with some great tunes pumping, a fruit station and some prizes for participants too. We are grateful for Woolworths providing all the fresh fruit and snacks for our students in the morning.
We will have some of the amazing team from the Phillip Trek Store to offer a safety check to all the kids and parents' bikes - they are offering a 10% discount on parts and accessories for 2 weeks from the date of the school visit for anyone that goes in and mentions our school event. We thank Trek for their continued support of our active school events.
It’s going to be a great morning and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible getting involved in the action.
Attached is the map of meet locations and the routes they follow to get to school - you can meet at a meet point or along the way, the more the merrier.

A St Vincent de Paul representative will attend parish mass with Years 5 and 6 on the 6 of June to express their thanks for our contributions. Please give what you can, donations will be accepted from today onwards. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Pyjama day!
