Term 3 Week 10 - Thursday 26 September 2024
Principal's Message
Gospel Reading: Mark 9: 38-43, 45, 47-48
John answered him, saying: Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not us, and we forbade him. But Jesus said: Do not forbid him. For there is no man that doth a miracle in my name, and can soon speak ill of me. For he that is not against you, is for you. For whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because you belong to Christ: amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea. And if thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into unquenchable fire: And if thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter lame into life everlasting, than having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire: And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out. It is better for thee with one eye to enter into the kingdom of God, than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
School Musical
I would like to thank all the children and staff who were involved in our performances. They were simply outstanding. Thank you also to our parent community who, I have no doubt, supported from behind the scenes, with learning lines, moves, songs etc. We could not have done this without you.
Thank you to our parents who supported our child safety guidelines. Child safety, means that we continue to look at what we are doing, and how we are doing it. Every child has the right to stay safe. Although it might have presented a few challenges, this was the reason behind picking students up from outside doors.
Thank you also to our volunteers who supported our tuckshop, it added to the flavour of the night.
Holiday works
During the holidays we will have phase 1 of the oval completed. This involves creating a new bore from the main to the current oval space. We have had to make some changes to our planning and our timeline. I will elaborate further on this next term.
We are also getting a top up of the sand pit and two of the playgrounds.
Start of Term 4
There is NO pupil free day at the start of Term 4. As such, students and staff all return on the Monday.
Finally, thank you for your ongoing support, and for the care you give to all children in our community. Please give your children opportunities for down time during the holidays, there are plenty of good books out there, which gives them opportunities to increase their vocabulary.
Kind regards
Cameron
