Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Dear Parents /Carers
Supervision Before 8.30am and After 3.30pm
I would like to remind you all, that students should not be dropped off at school before 8.30am. Supervision starts at this time and children unsupervised are vulnerable. The majority of our staff are well and truly on site before this time but they do not have responsibility for your children. It is the same situation after 3.30pm each day. It is parents’ responsibility to ensure pick up arrangements are in place. Supervision is provided until 3.30pm each afternoon, in case you are unavoidably running late.
School Photo Day Last Tuesday
Our school had photos taken last Tuesday. Photo day is an important day as all of us look back on our school photos with great interest, no matter how long ago they were taken! Each year we alternate between a summer uniform and winter uniform photo. This year was our winter uniform photo. Sibling photos took place as well.
Priests, Principals, Religious Education Coordinators Day
In recent years the Parish Priests, Principals and Religious Education Coordinators have met for a day to pray and discuss significant matters in relation to Religious Education and faith formation in our Catholic schools. This years meeting takes place tomorrow (Friday). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we must meet via Zoom with the other members.
Finding a time and place for talk
Children will chat more freely when they are doing something with you. This could be:
- Going shopping together
- Walking the dog
- Sitting at a table and sharing a meal
- Watching a TV program together
- Doing a puzzle or making something together
- Bedtime is a great time to talk. Then your child knows you are a captive audience!
Please keep Lawson T (6GC), Hudson T (3M) and their family in your thoughts and prayers, for the recent loss of their Maternal Grandmother.

Our lemon trees have been the centre of many learning experiences. The stingrays have recently made an exciting discovery, a nest! The children have been taking photos of the nest regularly to observe the gradual construction of the habitat. On Monday, they were excited to discover three eggs inside. After a discussion, the children came up with some focus questions about nests to help guide their inquiry. This week we have been exploring, “How are nests built?” The children have studied photos of the progress of the nest being constructed and have tried building their own nests out of natural and man made loose parts. The children are looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Assessment and Rating
We will be having a visitor at our Preschool on Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Monday 31 August who will conduct our Assessment and Rating (A&R). During this A&R process, our preschool will be assessed against the seven quality areas of the National Quality Standard and we will be given an overall rating based on the results. The results can take up to six weeks to be finalised after our visit. During these days, the preschool will function as usual. It is important for the assessor to see our normal embedded practises. If you have any questions about this process, do not hesitate to ask.
